This position is designated mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
The primary purpose of the Health Care Supervisor position is to provide direct supervision to the Developmental Technician staff in order to ensure the safety, care, programming and other services to all individuals within the assigned home/living unit.
Job responsibilities include the following: Conduct regularly scheduled meetings to provide education, training, information and communication to staff.
Evaluate and counsel staff on performance of duties.
Including giving disciplinary action if necessary.
Schedule coverage for assigned shift, assuring staff requirements.
Maintain ultimate responsibilities for accuracy of all timekeeping records of assigned unit health care staff.
Monitor and approve requests for unit supplies, individual's clothing and personal items, money, etc.
Follow all procedures in accounting for individuals' personal monies.
Enhance living unit environment through appropriate decorations and furnishings.
Ensure implementation of all training programs and services relative to daily living.
Ensure availability of adequate/functional materials/supplies.
Continuous active treatment provided through staff training; functional activities in small groups staff-client interaction; and encourage client choices.
Investigate all injuries/accidents immediately and take appropriate action.
Promote safe work habits and practices through training and implementation of facility procedures and guidelines.

Experience in scheduling staff to work more than one shift.
Ability to interact positively with a variety of disciplines.
Ability to perform related timekeeping functions.
Good general health including the ability to participate in lifting others.
Management Preferences: Previous experience supervising direct care staff, demonstrated leadership skills and professionalism.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis (6-8 times daily) and be able to stoop, bend, walk, run short distances (50 yards) and climb stairs without limitations of a permanent nature.
