PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for using chemicals and mixtures of cleaning solutions for cleaning and sanitizing assigned area, including equipment, to maintain sanitary conditions to mitigate bacteriological threats.
Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
Independently manages time to ensure area and equipment is sanitized, using required chemicals and cleaning solutions to reduce risk of bacteriological threats
Tear down machinery, sanitize and reassemble prior to production start
Direct the work of others and is the “go-to” for questions and concerns in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their request
Train lower level technicians as needed
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Basic understanding of machinery tear down and setup
Basic understanding of chemicals preferred
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Basic math skills
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stand up to 8 hours
Lift up to 60 lbs including moving, lifting and pushing machinery
Exposure to wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipment
Handle a 900PSI water hose continually
Climb ladders, stoop, reach overhead, bend and twist throughout shift as needed
Work around raw, live animal odors
