Description of Work
Reporting to the Correctional Programs Director II, this position is responsible for the supervision of subordinate personnel who are responsible for the implementation, development, and maintenance of programs on a daily basis.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Directing programs for the rehabilitation of offenders in the prison system.
Administering programs for offenders at the larger prison facilities or facilities having broader scope and complexity of programming; or assisting the Associate Warden for Programs II, offering a variety of program services.
Directing a major program in a region or statewide basis.
The primary programs areas are offender classification; correctional programs (including incentive wage, educational/vocational, volunteer programs, religion, cognitive-based interventions, and recreation); and correctional supportive counseling.
Coordinating programs with custody and other facility staff.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

of Adult Correction (DAC): The Dept.
of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.
This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision.
Other divisions include Administration, Compliance and Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs and Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation and Reentry.
About Harnett Correctional Institution: Harnett Correctional Institution is located in Lillington, North Carolina and houses up to 988 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
