Description of Job Duties:
This position is responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of staff of income maintenance
caseworkers.
This position serves as the supervisor for a Family and Childrens Medicaid team which involve all
eligibility functions (i.
e.
, intake, processing, review, etc.
)
This primary purpose of this position is to provide direct daily supervision to the staff, offer support, motivation,
monitoring, evaluations, training, guidance and team building which allows the unit members to provide quality
service to their customers.
This is achieved through unit meetings, conferences, staffing, collective or one-on-one
training sessions, evaluations, and the day-to-day answers to questions asked by the caseworkers.
This position
performs other related duties as assigned.
This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster
situations.
This employee will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot, if issued
a DSS iPad) as required by position to do, but not limited to: request leave, approve leave, schedule/receive
appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, receive/send tasks.
Experience using
Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Excel, etc.
) required.
Educational/Experience Requirements: Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income
maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Considerable knowledge of all income maintenance programs, forms, and
documents used in determining eligibility.
Considerable knowledge of the use of the income maintenance manuals and
the NC Fast System.
General knowledge of all agency programs and services.
General knowledge of community services
and programs which could affect the customer/applicant.
Good mathematical, reasoning, and computational skills.
Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise.
Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors,
applicants, and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations.
Ability to present
information orally and in written form.
Must have access to transportation and maintain a valid N.
C.
Driver’s License
with an acceptable driving record.
