Training Manager
Purpose:
Initiates, plans, coordinates, and directs training and staff development programs for the Credit Union.
Provides learning opportunities designed to increase staff capacity and commitment to achieving high performance standards.
Will apply a complement of training, organizational development programs based on careful needs assessments, opportunity identification, best practices, and evaluation of program cost-effectiveness.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Recommends training and development programs as deemed appropriate for meeting the needs of management and staff, as well as, the objectives set forth for the credit union.
Works with other areas to design curriculum and coordinate training activities for all subject areas with particular attention to best practices applicable to the credit union.
Conduct and coordinate training classes for new hire Tellers, member services and other departments as needed.
Ass Assess employees’ skills, performance, and productivity to identify areas of improvement.
Responsible for and/or assists with the development of training materials such as audio-visual job aids, manuals, workbooks, and scripts.
Working with Management team, conducts organizational and departmental needs analysis and assessment, identifying areas requiring developmental training.
Regularly provides or coordinates with outside providers training on management development and leadership skills.
Keeps SVP Member Services informed of training activities and of any significant problems.
Personally and/or collaboratively provides training, self-directed, and team learning experiences for Credit Union staff and teams at all levels.
Train Managers, Supervisors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in effective techniques for training and ensure that trainees learn to adapt to changes when enhancements to various products, services, policies, and procedures are presented.
Develops various class scenarios, exercises, assignments, tests and measurement tools to verify effectiveness, trainee comprehension and identify areas for improvement.
Design and/or select learning content, methods, resources and materials, working within budget approvals.
Manages the training program to include the creation and development and/or use of front-line and membership training curriculum to ensure all staff are up to-date on product and service offerings and ensures all training programs are regularly updated.
Collaborates with Department Managers to design ongoing professional development (career pathing) to assist staff in achieving their individual development goals.
Assist Managers and Peer Trainers in providing the most cost-effective on-the-job training.
Collaborates with Managers and the Executive Team to determine knowledge gaps and training needs.
Keeps current on training resources including available programs and practices.
Participates in industry networks and research new opportunities.
Conduct sales and service training for the staff.
Responsible for attending required compliance and regulatory training.
Responsible for creating job aids and managing the Credit Union Knowledge Management System (KMS) Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Frequent travel to other branches for training.
Complies with the Federal Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering & Customer Identification Policy (BSA), the OFAC Policy and the Identity Theft Policy.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Training: BA/BS Degree from accredited college or minimum of 5 years Training Manager experience at a Credit Union or Financial Institution.
Prior Experience: Prior Credit Union or Financial Institution experience highly desired.
Two years of prior training experience required.
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others.
Outside contact become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Special Skills and Abilities: Ensures work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
Promote a safe and productive learning environment.
Person with enthusiasm, approachable, able to read others and assess training needs.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and the membership.

Ability to plan, develop and implement training curriculum.
Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
Strong PC skills including Microsoft applications.
Ability to demonstrate the achievement of program goals and objectives.
· Must be able to model and promote high learning and growth expectations of staff, including job skills, productivity and efficiency, teamwork, motivation and commitment, communication and problem solving, and understanding of credit union mission and goals.
Physical Demands: The need for physical stamina is low to moderate.
Working Conditions: Minimal adverse working conditions.
Some fluctuations in temperature experienced in office setting.
May need to work beyond normal working hours, pending organization needs.
