Location: Fayetteville, NC Position Description Summary/objective The Business Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting our project-driven organization with resource management, budgeting and forecasting, project management support, contract management support, timekeeping and timesheet approvals, expense reporting and approvals, project accounting, billing, workforce collaboration, financials, reporting and analytics, change management and purchasing within one integrated system – Unanet.
This position is a full-time position that will involve interacting with all levels of the organization.

Maintains the integrity of our enterprise resource planning system (Unanet) and the maintenance of organizations, projects, accounts, and records in such areas as assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expense Assess the current state of our enterprise resource planning system and create improvement plans to aid in successful adoption of Unanet across departments Coordinates, gathers requirements, and conducts system and role-based configurations and activities to improve performance ongoing Set up Work Breakdown Structures to ensure effective control of risk management issues, effective work sequencing, and resource allocation within Unanet Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast budgets and costs to achieve financial objectives Assist with the review of contracts and contract modifications and ensure Unanet system is maintained and updated Lead coordination and integration of efforts to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes in Unanet Understand and interpret business and accounting policy requirements to ensure Unanet is configured to meet our needs, including invoicing requirements, revenue recognition, labor costing, cost accounting needs (i.
e.
, cost pools and overhead allocations), and contract and project management requirements Plan, create, monitor, manage and closeout Unanet projects and create documented workflows for all system functions Coordinate with management to ensure the projects remain on schedule and within budget using technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Maintain target staff utilization reports, project management reports and financial reports Ensure the timely completion of timesheet and expense report submissions Monitor and assist with issues from the users Review and promote (or demote) Shared Reports and their configurations Create and promote Unanet Analytics automated reports for requestors Learn and maintain a Unanet Analytics Studio Assist invoicing team with the review of bill rates annually Conduct role-based training for existing and new hires Stay up to date on new Unanet product feature functionality and keep company's system operating at optimal level Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
Study, explain and lead adoption of all current and future version releases and features of Unanet Financials Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, project management, or a related field 5+ years’ experience of project management, finance, or business operations within government contracting Unanet Administration Certification desired Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), rules and regulations Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Exceptional communication skills at all levels to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making, strategy and implementation requirements Excellent people skills, with experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team Resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented PMP certification desired Enjoys working with small companies and helping them grow Work environment Office Setting Physical demands Sitting for long periods of time Standing up and sitting down Filing Typing Looking at a computer for long periods of time Travel required May be required to travel for training or contract requirements Additional requirements Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
