Certified Peer Support Specialist Team Lead - Cumberland County - Full Time
We're expanding! SouthLight will now be offering services in the Cumberland County area - join us in building our new team!
As our full-time Certified Peer Support Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that PSS services run smoothly, clients receive optimal care, and that services provided are consistent with service definition in conjunction with the PSS Program Manager.
We empower our Peer Support Specialists to utilize their personal experiences with mental health and/or substance to connect, teach, model, and support the development of skills for ongoing treatment and recovery.
This is a community-based role that covers Cumberland County.

SouthLight offers a Peer Support Scholarship to qualified applicants to cover the cost of the Peer Support Certification course, which we will enroll you in upon hire! Schedule Flexible, daytime hours up to 40 hours per week.
(Lead weekly team meetings, 1x/wk) Pay Starting at $43,680 per year.

Job Responsibilities of a Certified Peer Support Team Lead Provide administrative supervision and guidance to the PSS team Provide interventions consistent with PSS service definition to the PSS caseload Track and monitor documentation for compliance Assist with service specific orientation of new staff Assist with development of protocols, policies and procedures as it relates to the development of the PSS program Be fluent and knowledgeable about service definition and service requirements Establish relationships with a comprehensive, targeted listed of providers and other relevant community organizations Responsible for timely response to new referrals and onboarding new PSS clients into services Coordinate and provide informal needs assessments in the community with potential PSS clients Responsible for the successful growth of the caseload and management of the team Ensure that PSS client records contain required information, releases, documents, service notes, and that discharges and transition plans are completed for every client upon completion of services Qualifications of a Certified Peer Support Team Lead Education and Experience Meets requirements for Qualified Professional QP status as specified in NC statue 2 yrs experience supervising community intervention and crisis services 3-5 yrs experience working in community mental health setting Certifications Must qualify to become a NC Peer Support Specialist Certification (CPSS) as a person with personal, lived experience in MH and/or SU (if you aren't already certified, we can enroll you in a class during the onboarding process) Certification in CPR, First Aid, Blood borne Pathogens training, and NCI Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good oral and written communication skills Knowledge of county resources and opportunities Great "people skills" and an ability to make lasting community connections Ability to learn other technological recording methods i.
