POSITION SUMMARY In collaboration with the Director, Facilities oversees and directs the engineering and facility management functions for UNC Health Southeastern including facility planning and construction projects.
Manages the activities of the necessary resources to ensure UNC Health Southeastern’s facilities function and operate in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner while satisfying all applicable regulatory requirements.
In conjunction with the Director of Facilities is responsible for assessing and planning for departmental needs based on short and long-term goals and strategic plans for assigned hospitals or practices.
Provides accurate and timely communication, recognition, and coaching to staff; implements budget and performance improvement plans; collaborates with all hospital departments to endure their satisfaction with matters involving Facilities Services; supervises small maintenance and refurbishment projects; and, responsible for coordination of related service.
Acts as the Safety Officer and oversees the Emergency Management for the organization.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a Related Degree
Five years experience in a leadership and management role of a health care organization
Preferred: Master Degree in above disciplines and/or Healthcare focused area.
Experience in a particular trade such as mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, stationary operating engineer, etc.
