Summary:
As the Emergency Department Lead Paramedic, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the work of the Paramedics in the Emergency Department.
You will also be responsible for training, evaluating, and supervising the team of Paramedics to consistently deliver a high level of performance.
You will work closely with the Emergency Department staff to ensure timely and appropriate patient care.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Emergency Department Staff to ensure timely and appropriate patient care
2.
Supervise and coordinate the work of all Paramedics in the Emergency Department
3.
Develop and implement training programs for Paramedics to ensure they have the necessary skills to provide high-quality care
4.
Evaluate and train Paramedics to maintain a high level of performance, including conducting oral boards, skills evaluations, annual evaluations, and more
5.
Manage the hiring, orientation, retention, advancement and remediation efforts for all Paramedics
Other information:
Education
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification
Licensed Paramedic.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required prior to completion of orientation.
Experience
At least 3 years of experience as a paramedic, preferably in an emergency department setting.
Experience in a leadership, supervisory, or critical care role strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Valid NC Driver’s License: Yes
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
