This position is located in the Adult Services Section.
Potential for Telework/Remote options may be considered based on training, quality assurance, performance, and/or business needs.
Examples of Duties This position provides day to day supervision for General Services Team I within the Adult Services Division and reports directly to a Social Work Program Manager.
This position is responsible for the efficient administration and operation of four programs areas which include Homemaker, Representative Payee, Special Assistance In-Home, and Adult Day Care Services.
This position is also responsible for the direct supervision of six Social Worker II's and two Community Social Services Assistants.
The individual in this position should be able to identify unit training needs and monitor quality standards as it relates to federal, state, and local policies.
The ability to relate and communicate in a caring and professional manner with both the staff and the families we serve is essential for this position.
A strong team orientation and commitment to the overall mission and goals of Adult Services and the agency is also required.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERENCE EXPERIENCE: Experience in working with policies and procedures in a Department of Social Services and familiarity with the challenges of working with the elderly and disabled population.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training.
Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems.
Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources.
Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs.
Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: The selected applicant will be subject to the following conditions prior to appointment.
Failure to complete or fulfill these conditions may result in dismissal.
The employee in this position will be operating motor vehicles for Cumberland County and shall have a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Refusal to submit to testing or a confirmed positive test shall be a basis for withdrawal of the conditional employment offer.
Law enforcement background check is required.
