Have small/exotic/pocket pets you’re nervous with or unsure of how to groom, trim, do nails, or wings? Looking for the peace of mind of their safety? Need health care tips and advice for them?
Here at Nevaeh Rabbitry, our doors have been open to all needy small animals since 2015, with even longer experience than that.
Nevaeh Rabbitry works closely with other local rescues for reptiles/amphibians, wildlife, and exotics to help ensure the best placement and outcome for all species.
We are adamant on educating the public about these small pets’ needs, due to many overlooking their care and said needs very often.
Many view them as disposable, like rabbits or guinea pigs.
.
.
Ferrets and other things, thinking it’s proper to release them in to the wild when they’re not capable of survival on their own due to years of domesticated breeding.
As a hobby, we do raise show rabbits to the SOP, and use to raise rats, cavies, gerbils, and hamsters.
We are registered with the ARBA.
That is strictly a hobby, and never interferes with the rescue or vice versa.
Over the years, I have taken in many rabbits (from ones with health issues, to behavioral issues), guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, hamsters, other small rodents, chickens/ducks, chinchillas, ferrets, turtles, snakes, frogs, and even a bearded dragon and many others.
We do not take in what we are not comfortable with/cannot provide for, as that is unfair to the animals.
If worse comes to worst, we have other contacts we reach out to.
We get a lot of questions looking for advice, or if we can petsit or help clean up an animal, nail trims, teeth trims (rabbits only), ear mite treatment, the list goes on.
As I said before, and always will.
We help out in any way possible.
*FEES/SERVICES*
• Nail trims (experience with mostly any small animal you can think of that might need nail maintenance.
I use to work with dogs and used a dremel often, but have shifted my focus)
• Wing trims
• Brushouts/de-matting sessions/trim ups (I have a few years experience with wool as well)
• Malocclusion and misaligned teeth assistance
• Fur and earmite treatment/guidance
• Scent gland de-gunk (cause of a lot of musky smell in rabbits, especially males)
• Short term pet sitting in home— case by case basis, contact for availability
Message me directly for prices, this is Facebook, I will not discuss this in comment sections.
I charge a lot less than most vets and grooming facilities, this is not a business for me, and I have been advised I probably cheat myself as I’ve done more charity work than I needed to.
I do this to help the animals and you out.
Anything made off of these services go right back in to feed, enrichment, and medications.
Major discounts on more than 3 of the same smaller creatures, so I do major package deals for herds and larger families.
We have shaved and trimmed rabbits down, you name it.
If you need something done, or help with something you’re not sure about, ask away! I’m always glad to teach owners how I safely go about doing these things myself.
Countless times I have found myself meeting up with people seeking advice, just for us to carry on for hours in a detail filled conversation.
We never charge anything for talking new or curious owners through things, or giving advice.
All fees charged for trims and care services, go right back in to their feed and care.
We gladly show new owners how to properly care for, feed, and handle these animals.
By no means do we know it all, and if asked about something we’re not too sure about, I likely know someone who does know the answer, or will hunt the answer down for you and provide it with legible proof.
We want everyone to know, we are here for them and their pets.
I get asked many times if there’s any fees to surrender, and the answer is always no.
This is a service to not only you, but most importantly the animals.
Small pets need more people educated on them.
I get they can be intimidating, especially with nail care, etc due to being so small and squirmy.
