*This is an anticipated vacancy* The Education Services Department at Caswell Developmental Center is organized into teaching teams that provides educational and vocational instruction as well as employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.
Instruction is provided in residential homes and kitchens, classroom/activity areas throughout the facility, and Vocational worksites on and off campus.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide instruction that is consistent with state/federal regulations which promotes growth and learning in self-care, dining, domestic, communication/socialization, money management, functional academics and work/vocational domains.
Duties for this position include: Evaluates utilizing a variety of assessment tools/strategies; Writes/presents evaluation results to an interdisciplinary team on assigned individuals; Conducts baselines, assesses performance, documents responses, and writes objectives with specific techniques designed to promote learning and independence;.
Interprets data/writes progress notes; Conducts training sessions/monitors training and revises strategies/time frames to best meet the needs of each learner.
Develops curriculum and schedules.
Participates on an interdisciplinary team to develop plans for habilitation, objective training, and active treatment schedules.
Provides oversight of service delivery by in-servicing objectives/protocols, monitoring training/activities based on identified strengths, needs, and preferences.
Designs learning environments/vocational sites that best meets learning styles and promotes independence.
Provide supervision/oversight to paraprofessionals which may include EDA's, Job Coaches, and Direct Support staff.
