Minimum Requirements:
An Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a health-related field with a current national certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.
One year of work experience in the current full-time clinical laboratory is required; five years is preferred.
Must possess good communication skills, work well with adult learners, and be able to work flexible instructional hours as needed.
A current national certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist and bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Position Duties:
The essential duties and responsibilities include developing curriculum, policy and procedures, and performance objectives.
The MLT Instructor will assess program outcomes, provide employability skills, promote career awareness, provide effective instruction and evaluation of student achievement in specific content areas of the medical laboratory technology curriculum including didactic instruction and supervision of hands-on labs, individualized and safety instructions, and monitor inventory of lab supplies and student clinical progress.
Content areas may include Urinalysis and Body Fluids, Hematology/Hemostasis, Immunohematology, Microbiology, and Clinical Chemistry.
The Instructor will maintain records and follow state requirements for the program as well as perform all other duties assigned by the program director or supervisor.
