The Department of Physical Therapy at Methodist University invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment in foundational and applied science courses.
Methodist University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to join our team of energetic, collaborative, and motivated faculty in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services.
The position requires academic teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities, and the option of clinical practice time, consistent with the mission and philosophy of Methodist University.
Methodist University is a private comprehensive institution grounded in the tradition of liberal arts.
The Program is in the Thomas R.
McLean Health Sciences Building.
The 38,800-square-foot contemporary facility has dedicated classroom space and research facilities that include a Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory, a Human Performance Laboratory, a Motor Control Lab, and a Mobility Courtyard to allow faculty to engage in research agendas and direct student research projects.

D.
, EdD, DSc, or equivalent), a history of scholarly publications/presentations, a well-defined, ongoing scholarly agenda, and previous teaching experience.
Candidates nearing completion of a terminal doctoral degree will be considered.
Candidates will be able to teach exercise physiology and physiology foundational sciences courses, and other applied science courses such as exercise prescription and nutrition.
Physical Therapist candidates should be eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina, secured at the time of employment.
Preference is given to applicants with a DPT, APTA specialist ABPTS certification, and/or ABPTRFE residency/fellowship and DPT program teaching experience.
Preference is given to applicants of non-physical therapist backgrounds who have certifications in content areas.
